This underground utilities project consisted of six horizontal directional drills of watermain and forcemain, totaling approximately 8,000 LF beneath seven bridges owned by Miami Dade County (MDC). The work was completed prior to MDC’s upgrades of twelve bridges along Venetian Way.
The scope also included several hundred feet of open-cut ductile iron pipe (DIP) installations, ranging in size from 4” to 30” at each island. To transport heavy equipment across the bridges to the job sites, Earth View coordinated closely with Miami Dade to secure the necessary permits for hauling overweight loads and transporting equipment by barge.

The Miami-Dade County owned bridges had strict weight limits, so EV worked closely with MDC to obtain special permits for hauling overweight loads and coordinated the transport of their 440 HDD rig by barge. This approach allowed the project to move forward without damaging infrastructure or delaying the schedule.
